Pre-orders continue to still be available this week.
AT&T has finally made the formal announcement regarding the Galaxy S3 and it will be available on Friday, July 6th, at retail stores. This has been a long awaited announcement since Samsung announced the phone back on May 3rd in London. Since that time, the US has been following behind the rest of the world along with Canada to get the Galaxy S3. With the earlier date of June 21st as the launch date having past, AT&T made a decision to wait until they had a firm date for the launch of the Galaxy S3.
They are following behind T-Mobile and Sprint here in the US, but are ahead of Verizon in getting the phone out for sale. It has been unceretain as to when AT&T would launch the Galaxy S3 and that uncertainty has now been replaced with a firm date from them. All of this is due to “overwhelming demand” for the Galaxy S3 which has been far greater than Samsung had prepared for and shows the appreciation for this smart phone. The demand continues here in the US. There have been inventory issues with the Galaxy S3 and while Samsung works to resolve those problems, there may be some periods where the phone is sold out in some location and wireless carriers. Pre-orders are continuing this week at AT&T and are expected to continue through Thursday with shipments already taking place for those who have previously ordered.
Pricing for the phone will be $199.99 with the usual 2 year contract commitment with AT&T in either the white or marble blue. AT&T is not selling the 32 GB version, but does have an exclusive on a coming red version of the phone. We have not heard of any dates as to when that color might actually show up.
Now is the time to go out and grab one.
