Ship by dates go from June 21st to June 28th.
Within the last week, we are hearing about more delays for the coming Galaxy S3. While this is the week it is supposed to be going on sale, it is questionable as to how many wireless carriers here in the US will be putting it on sale. News from Sprint has it delayed after all of Canada has seen a weeks delay in the arrival of the Galaxy S3. T-Mobile is going to be the first, but not in all locations. Now comes word that AT&T is delaying the shipments for pre-ordered Galaxy S3 phones. This is not an official statement, but rather what you see if you pre-order the Galaxy S3 from AT&T today.
This is similar to what we saw with Verizon’s pre-order shipment dealy, but from Verizon there has been no official statement. The above picture is what you see when ordering through AT&T’s web site and shows a delay of a week in shipments. It is unknown as to whether this is a delay for all the pre-ordered phones or just a delay for those who are ordering the phones now. Best guess, it is delayed for everyone as we have heard of no order confirmations for shipments yet for AT&T. We should expect to hear some short of an announcement from AT&T today about the delay in getting the Galaxy S3.
We do not have confirmation for the delays which could only impact those who have pre-ordered with a possibility the phones will go on sale tomorrow at AT&T stores. That is unlikely as it would cause problems for all those who ordered the Galaxy S3 for the purpose of getting it before everyone else, which would be today. In general, all the reports of delays for the Galaxy S3 are troubling and indicate huge sales with inventory problems for Samsung. If that is the case and it is starting to prove out to be just that, it is going to take months to get things caught up.
Expect to hear more later today on this with more reporting tomorrow on exactly who has what when.
