Galaxy S3 may face stiff challenge from Apple.
With the numerous rumors about what the iPhone 5 will contain, it will create a sales challenge for Samsung to continue the strong growth they have been seeing this year. The one big advantage right now is that Tim Cook will be making the announcement with a cast of characters. With no strong presenter to stir up the Apple faithful, it provides Samsung with another opportunity to continue their sales growth. Given the recent announcement of sales over 20 million, Samsung is in the news and on people’s minds. They continue to release products, but with the Galaxy S3 being the flagship product for them, it is very important to maintain the current level of sales when Apple releases their next product.
It has been reported that the Samsung Galaxy S3 outsold the iPhone in Q2 and with that news shows the strength of the product. The big question on people’s mind right now is whether they will be able to maintain the level of sales for the last quarter of the year. The fight between these two is going to be a tough one. Samsung has continued to grow their products to be number one in market share globally. The focus is on the Galaxy S3 versus the iPhone 5. This is the week for the iPhone 5 announcement and we should know soon just how strong the sales for the Galaxy S3 are going to remain.
The Galaxy S3 has a number of features which the iPhone will not have. Based on current rumors, the iPhone will come with a 4 inch screen which is smaller that the S3. That additional screen size does make a difference in using the phone. There are many who do not like how Apple controls so much of the environment and prefer the openness of the Android OS. That is the one big difference between the two and with that, a primary difference for consumers in making their selections. There have been comparisons between the unreleased iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3 for months which shows the strength of the phone. Until the official announcement from Apple, you cannot talk much about all the rumors for the iPhone 5. We keep hearing about the lack of a microSD which has become standard on so many phones.
Do you think the Galaxy S3 sales are going to remain strong as Apple announces the iPhone 5?
