If you are like most people, you have been caught on the go without a charger for your smart phone. Those long cables for the new phones are just another item to carry with you. But if you are only carrying your smart phone with no other computer related equipment, you could get caught with a low battery. And that situation is where the ChargeCard comes into play to ease the potential problem with a low battery.
The ChargeCard was part of a KickStarter offering where they sought to get $50,000 and they received $161,897. With that, they are moving forward with production and it is expected they will be offering the iPhone ChargeCard some time in December. This is the size of a credit card that fits into your wallet to provide the ability to charge your iPhone when you forget your charger. The video below gives you a good idea of what this can do for you. One end goes into the 30 pin iPhone connector and the snap out USB connection goes into a computer for charging. All with something that is the size of a credit card.
The iPhone version on the right is for a 30 pin adapter only and they do not have a Ligthning connector in the works, though we expect to hear about that early next year as sales take off. The one on the left is for any mobile device which can be charged via a MicroUSB connection. These are currently scheduled to begin shipping in February. Both can be pre-ordered now and shipped as they are available.
This is going to be a wonderful gift item as it becomes available and with that there will be various colors offered. Expect to see companies giving these away with their logo on them.
