Galaxy S3 Rumors
Rumors for the coming Galaxy S3 continue, though it is not coming in April and exactly when it might be arriving in the US is currently the subject of guesses and speculation. The features are the subject of speculation as well, especially with a reduced bezel which has the touch screen going to the edges of the smart phone frame which can increase the screen size without expanding on the size of the phone. This, along with a rumored thinner phone, is creating a stir in the rumor mill and the desire by many to see this phone. With this, people are looking for evidence of the coming Galaxy S3 for the purpose of identifying the phone and features.
Some are not a direct correlation to the arrival, but may provide some insights as to what Samsung is planning for the future. Recent information is being reported regarding trademark requests by Samsung for the selected names of Galaxy Accelerate, Galaxy Thunder and Galaxy Express. There are a number of people who believe that these names are going to be tied to the coming Galaxy S3 for versions going to different wireless carriers. In particular, Phandroid has put the idea out there for the public to think about.
In some unrelated Samsung news, it appears they are working to get the name Samsung Wallet trademarked as part of future activities. Does that mean that they might be competing with Google Wallet? It is too early to make that determination and obviously Samsung is not saying anything so we do not have any information. Given the effort to trademark the name, we can assume that Samsung has something in mind to do with that trademark. At some point this year, we should hear about plans that Samsung might have for “Samsung Wallet”.
Here are the trademark from March 5th for the US Patent and Trademark Office:
