The long wait to get Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S II continues.
If you are the proud owner of the Samsung Galaxy S II, you desire to get the latest and greatest of the Android OS in the form of Jelly Bean. There have been rumors circulating regarding that and we know that the Galaxy S II will be getting Jelly Bean. And there have been rumors going around as to when the S II might be getting Android 4.1. Official information is now coming out from Samsung indicating that November will be the month when Jelly Bean starts to roll out for the Galaxy S II.
Based on the list, the Galaxy S3 is slated to get Jelly Bean before the Galaxy S II. That is a bit of a disappointment. Granted that the S3 is a new phone, the S II is the smart phone that laid the foundation for Samsung to build on. Not much that can be done about it. Here in the US, it will probably be December or even January before the update is actually delivered to the S II. That is primarily because the wireless carriers have to update Android 4.1 with all their pieces and hooks. At least things are moving forward and there is a generalization of a period when Jelly Bean may be made available for the Galaxy S II.
Here is the official list for Samsung devices getting Android 4.1, Jelly Bean from Samsung’s Denmark site:
