Poland is first country to get Android 4.1 for Galaxy S3
We have been wondering just when we might be able to expect to see the Jelly Bean update for our Galaxy S3 phones. Here in the US, we pretty much accept the fact that we will see it towards the end of the list. And if you are a Verizon Wireless customer, odds are it will take even longer because of how they seem to roll out updates. We had previously reported that it might be delayed from the October time frame they were putting out. Now, we are seeing that Samsung has started the roll out earlier to provide the latest and greatest version of the Android OS.
And the roll out has started with Poland being the first and other European countries being added. This news is fantastic for the worldwide owners of the Galaxy S3. Exactly what date others European countries are going to get Jelly Bean on the Galaxy S3 is not known right now. More than likely, Samsung is using Poland as a test run to make sure that everything runs smoothly for the roll out. If there are any problems, they will have a much smaller market to address and minimize the impact of possible problems.
Questions of when other countries will get the Android 4.1 update are growing. The UK is one which is being mentioned a lot as to when the update will arrive. With the news for Poland, it looks to be a sure thing it will arrive in the month of October which will be great news. Here in the US, we might get lucky and see it at the end of October, but more than likely it will be November before it arrives. And with that arrival, there will be improvements in performance as has been reported. There have been some rumors that Jelly Bean may also improve battery life, which if correct will make the Galaxy S3 an even more desirable smart phone.
All we can do now is wait for the Jelly Bean update to arrive.
