Charging your Galaxy S3 by laying it on a mat coming.
We have all seen the technology which allows you to put a mobile device on a mat and have that device be charged. No need to plug in cables in order to get a charge. That is a really great technology and has been out there this year for other smart phones. But, it has yet to come to the Samsung Galaxy S3 which was released in the US beginning in June. That is soon to be changing as Zens is releasing a version in the US next month. They are already selling it in Europe.
The Zens website has the product descriptions which are already on sale in parts of Europe. For those who are interested, this is great news. In order to take advantage of the charging pad, it will require that you replace the back cover on your Galaxy S3 smart phone. This replacement will have “Zens” etched into the cover instead of “Samsung” or your wireless carrier, such as “Verizon”. If you are using a case to protect your smart phone, you do not care. Well, maybe you should as there is no information regarding just how well the inductive charging is going to work with a protective case around your Galaxy S3. I searched for that on the Zens site and elsewhere and could not find a definitive answer on that.
The Zens wireless charger will be here next month, costing you a reported $83 which includes the charging pad and replacement battery cover. Pricing may vary when it actually arrives. Verizon is also in the process of releasing an inductive charging system with a new back cover and pad all for the price of $89. This should be out this month if you are interested in getting a jump on it. Samsung is supposed to also be coming out with an inductive charging system as the official product for their Samsung Galaxy S3.
Isn’t technology a wonder thing?
