Apple’s mistakes provide windows of opportunity.
It has become an accepted fact that when Apple releases a new version of their iPhone, that all the competition takes a hit for a few months on sales. And that has been the case for years. But with the release of the iPhone 5, it does appear that Apple is vulnerable right now and that presents an opportunity for Samsung to continue to sell their very popular Galaxy S3. While Apple has added LTE to their latest phone, the Galaxy S3 already has that and has been out for months. And now that Apple has released the iPhone 5 and the Apple Maps has been shown to be extremely poor, the Samsung Galaxy S3 can continue to make sales to customers who have a choice.
The two major phones on the market right now are the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3 and all the others drop off quickly for market share. Being that the Galaxy S3 is the prime competitor against the iPhone 5, now is the time for Samsung to jump in and take sales away from the iPhone. One of the ways that Samsung has been doing that is by their current advertising program. This advertising directly attacks the iPhone for the things that it does not have. And waiting in line is not the way to get them.
And the problems which Apple is having in other areas is not helping them. But, it does help Samsung. It looks like the next few months are going to be good ones for Samsung and they have not had to do anything for that. Apple has done it for them. Now is the time for Samsung to seize the moment and step things up even more to grab more sales from Apple.
