Galaxy S3 Arriving Soon
Rumors surrounding the Galaxy S3 are continuing and Samsung has been very secretive on exactly what this next smart phone is going to contain. Seems they continue to learn from Apple on how to handle things to generate a good rumor mill to build up the product. The latest is a Tweet about the Galaxy S3 and from Eldar Murtazin (Editor in Chief of Mobile-Review) who has a track record of not always being right. His previous update was that Ice Cream Sandwich would be coming to the Galaxy S2 on March 1st. His latest is that Samsung has completed all testing and has entered the production phase for the Galaxy S3. If this information is correct, we could see an announcement from Samsung in April or May with a launch of the Galaxy S3 within weeks of Samsung making it official.
We are starting to see a lot of evidence for the Galaxy S3 such as Samsung registering Trademarks for names which could be used on versions of the S3. There is the availablity for pre-order for the Galaxy S3, though it is for a GSM version and not with 4G LTE. But, it is those things which is starting to look like things are getting closer. Just how close is still the subject of rumors and speculation and with that, more possible statuses for the coming smart phone and dates as to when we are going to see will be coming.
It seems that without official specs coming from Samsung, there is a lot of guessing going on. One of interest is the change in the back case for the phone from the less than sturdy plastic to a hard ceramic material. This is rumor and there has been no details as to exactly what that is going to mean. Other features will most certainly include 4G LTE running on a quad core processor to deliver fantastic perforamnce. Rumors vary on a 720p HD screen or a 1080p HD screen. More than likely, we will see 720p. Screen size rumors run form 4.6 to 4.8 inches and that difference is probably related to whether there will be a bezel around the phone or not.
We have not heard whether Samsung is going to be talking advantage of the Gorilla Glass 2 for the touch screen protection. If they were to include that, they would have an advertising advantage for their phone and if Apple is looking to utilize that, would beat them to market. What ever they end up doing, they are going to be challenging Apple and the iPhone 5. The features which are rumored for the Galaxy S3 are going to beat most of the iPhone features. If they can beat them to market, they will have a great advantage to grab market share. Based on the successes of the Galaxy S II, this next version from Samsung looks to continue the success for Samsung.
