Samsung is continuing with the Galaxy Tab line of tablets by releasing a variety of different sizes to meet the needs of consumers. These range from 10.1 inch down to 7.0 inch models which provide choices based on what fits you best. Samsung has suffered through problems where Apple has blocked their release of tablets in Germany which has forced them to make adjustments to what they are making to get around injunctions that have been imposed. They are going to be releasing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0N Plus in Germany which lets them sell a 7 inch tablet which Apple is not able to block. This should be available in Germany by the end of January to consumers. Pricing for this should be known in a few weeks just prior to its release.
It is being reported that this one will more than likely only be sold in Europe and will not make its way to the US. This is because the Galaxy Tab 7.0N was created solely for the purpose to not infringe on Apple’s patents based on past court filings in Germany. From Ubergizmo:
The 7″ Android tablet now features a redone bezel with a visible metallic frame with visible integrated speakers (as if the Samsung logo on the front of the tablet wasn’t enough to give it away) but Samsung should now be safe from Apple’s lawyers. No word on whether the Galaxy Tab 7.0N Plus will be released out of Germany but if Samsung receives more injunctions from Apple, I guess you can expect to see it popping up in other places as well.
We can expect Samsung to continue to make changes to get around the actions of Apple so they can sell competing products and cut into Apple’s market share around the globe. In locations where there are court injunctions, Samsung will make the necessary changes to sell their Galaxy Tab products.
