So, the obvious question is exactly what is a Hapifork? This is one of the items being revealed at the CES show in Las Vegas this week and one that has created a lot of interest. This oddly shaped fork will be coming in 5 different colors and looks intriguing at first glance. It seems to have a rather large handle to it and makes the claim that it can help you lose weight.
The HAPIfork is presented by HAPILabs and has some interesting claims such as helping you to lose weight and help your digestion of food. This bluetooth enabled fork can keep track of how often you put food into your mouth using the fork. Eating too fast can cause indigestion problems and potentially weight control issues. By keeping track of each time that you put food into your mouth, it can warn you of eating too quickly by vibrating the fork. That should get you to stop and think about just how fast you are eating.
Since this is bluetooth enabled, it can put the collected information onto your smart phone or tablet with the app they are going to be including. It can tell you how long it took you to finish your food or how many times per minute you put food into your mouth.
Before you get too interested, it is in the process of get funding so that they can begin the manufacturing process. They expect to have this come to market by the middle of the year. And at an estimated price of $99.99, it is a little steep. But, if this thing does everything they claim, it will be a great seller to help people control their weight.
Think about what this could do in changing the bad habits that we have developed in how we eat. Grabbing lunch on the go and gobbling it down is not good for indigestion. And we are not thinking about what we eating, so something like this may help us focus more. Do you think you might consider purchasing the HAPIfork when it comes to market?
