Rumors of the coming Samsung Galaxy S3 continue with a 4.8 inch screen launching in 50 markets at the same time.
Since it appears that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is not going to be shown at the Mobile World Congress this week, we are starting to see leaked or rumored information about what may be coming. We reported on a new rumor about a code named phone called the Galaxy B which is supposed to have almost no bezel around the phone. Having that provides for either a smaller phone with the reduction in the bezel or a larger screen with the same physical size. Either way, consumers are going to come out as the winners if that is the case. We have heard rumor of this for the coming iPhone and having it on a Samsung Galaxy smart phone is a great idea.
It now appears that the Galaxy B is in reality going to be the Samsung Galaxy S3. In a report from Android Authority, it appears that more information is being leaked out about this coming smart phone. A larger screen at 4.8 inches touch screen display using Super AMOLED Plus and providing HD. We have already been hearing about just how thin this phone is going to be at 7 mm making this one of the thinnest of all the smart phones on the market today.
One of the criticisms of the Galaxy S2 has been the cheap feeling plastic backing on the phone. Current rumors have Samsung replacing this with a ceramic back. This will give the phone more of a sturdier feeling than it currently does. And unfortunately will add some to the weight, but with the reduction in thickness may not make the phone any heavier overall. Since we do not expect the phone to arrive until Q2, we can see Ice Cream Sandwich being on the phone when it is released. Current guesses have release late in Q2, so we do not have too long to wait before Samsung starts talking about this one.
