Multiple mistaken leaks from Samsung have confirmed name.
Samsung has been trying to keep the name for the successor to the Galaxy S II a secret and not providing specific information about it. This has been the case with their press invite and the teaser videos they have been putting out regarding the coming May 3rd event in London. This is reportedly going to be about several devices, but the one which is expected is the Next Galaxy which everyone now knows is going to be in fact the Galaxy S3. There have been too many leaks over the past week and all of them have come from Samsung. If they wanted to keep things a secret, they have missed the mark and everyone is convinced that it will indeed be the Galaxy S3. If not, it will be a big surprise.
The number of leaks on the coming Next Galaxy seems to continue to grow. The best one is the revelation from Samsung’s Unpacked Mobile 2012 app on Google Play, which when first displayed explicitly showed the “galaxy s3” and was quickly updated. It was too late and the information was spreading quickly. Another leak came in the form of Samsung Kies area where they are showing the GT-i9300 and GT-i9300T which are both expected to be the Galaxy S3. The 9300 value has been reported to represent the Galaxy S3. The Kies is a system used by Samsung to manage their devices. While it does not show the real pictures of the coming phone, this is another confirmation of the Galaxy S3.
In another report, the Carphone Warehouse is listing the Galaxy S3 as coming soon. This comes after the report where the Galaxy S3 is the best selling phone at Amazon in Germany and has not even been announced yet by Samsung. That is quite a feat for a device that have not even shipped yet.
All of the examples would appear to provide the necessary proof that the coming “Next Galaxy” is in fact going to be called the Galaxy S3. There appears to be no other conclusion to come to based on these reports.
