It seems like the continuing story in the UK where Apple has been forced to publish an apology on their web site is never going to end. It stayed in the news when Apple appealed the courts decision requiring them to take out ads and publish a page on their web site. Apple lost the appeal and had to issue an apology to the public that Samsung had not copied the iPad for their Galaxy Tab tablets. That was great news for Samsung and created a lot of press over the issue. But for some reason, Apple could not let it go and had to have the upper hand in things.
Apple embellished the web page adding more than the court had said in their ruling. They had also made it close to impossible to find the link to the post on their home page. It was at the bottom in very small print. The court ordered them to make changes, which they have done. And the result of this is the apology staying in the news and benefiting Samsung.
In their ongoing battles around the world, this one situation has hurt Apple because they appear to want to get the upper hand in everything. And at the rate this is going, it will be in the news until the holiday season ends for everyone. Samsung should be pleased that Apple’s continuing missteps keep it in the news and their Galaxy Tab tablets being talked about.
How much longer Apple continues to keep this in the news is up to them and Samsung continues to be the benefactor.
