Rumors are circulating this morning and are the talk about a future smart phone coming from Samsung which has a code name of Galaxy B. This is all based on an article from MK News in Korea and is from the usual unnamed sources. Even with it being a rumor, it is generating excitement at the possibility of a Samsung Galaxy phone coming without a bezel around the touch screen. With the Mobile World Congress next week in Spain, this could be the talk of the show as a prototype of coming Samsung Galaxy products this year. With the near elimination of the bezel, it allows for a Galaxy phone which could be smaller in size and still maintain the existing touch screen size. Or they could maintain the existing size and provide for a larger touch screen. With this rumor, either could be possible.
You have to remember that this is pure rumor with no leaked pictures or specs of any kind. If this shows up at MWC, it will be showing off coming phones, not an actual phone. While Samsung could fool everyone and show this as the coming Galaxy S3, we do not believe that to be the case at the moment. The Galaxy B rumors have put out the idea of no bezel, but there has to be some bezel at the top to allow for the camera and a speaker so you can hear phone calls. By having little or no bezel around the rest of the phone, it would become a very futuristic looking phone. Apple has been rumored to be working on the same thing for the coming iPhone 5 and if this rumor is correct, Samsung is going to beat Apple to market.
This one would come with the Super AMOLED display and can be expected to have higher resolution than existing phones from Samsung which is where the industry has been heading lately. There would be a quad core processor which is the leading edge right now. All of this seems to be a ways off and the current information from the article has this arriving some time in Q2 or Q3. Strangely, that seems to match up to the coming time frame for the Samsung Galaxy S3, but it is too early to make that leap.
All of this seems to match up to another story where Samsung is changing its touch screen manufacturing process beginning in Q2 this year. That might mean a resolution close to or at what is showing up on the Galaxy Note right now. This is another piece to the puzzle and could all fit together when Samsung starts to talk about the future for their products. While Samsung is not going to be announcing the Galaxy S3, they could be laying out the future for their mobile devices next week and validate this rumor being reported today.
