Samsung has several music players to compete with the Apple iPod. The Galaxy S WiFi 3.6, 4.0 and 5.0 are what has been on the market from Samsung for a while with the 4.0 and 5.0 version being announced last May. These look like they were good competitors in the music player space utilizing WiFi for connections to play your music, games, etc. Samsung was marketing this as a Social Media Hub where you can connect to Twitter, Flickr and Facebook. Samsung is now releasing another version to enter the marketplace with the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 model.
The Galaxy S Wifi 4.2 inch version has improvements which make this one more desirable to consumers. It does look like Samsung is trying to put as many versions of their products in the market as possible and this one continues that idea. It is coming with a 1 Ghz processor to drive the needs of this media player. The big changes on this latest model is the touch screen which is 800 by 400 sporting a WVGA screen. They are promoting the IPS TFT screen but they have added some other features which are more notable.
The feature to switch the orientation on the screen as you move it has improved and is known as the gyroscope. Samsung is introducing a 6 axis gyroscope on the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2. This provides for moving the mobile device when playing games where you tilt the screen a little to cause a reaction in a game you might be playing. There are Bluetooth 3.0 connections along with USB 2.0. You get options for internal storage of either 8 GB or 16 GB. There is external storage where you can add a microSD card with storage amounts of up to 32 GB. Add to that WiFi connectivity and you have a pretty well rounded device. Pricing and availability are not known at this time.
