There are growing rumors of Samsung this week. And those rumors have them working to reinvent themselves into a new company with a new image. This new image will be the new representation for the company for the foreseeable future from their current brand we are showing here. And it may be about time for that given all the court battles with Apple this year. They need to have a new image across all their products which people will come to recognize as a symbol of quality. For the mobile crowd, Samsung has come to mean a company which is the biggest supplier of Android smart phones in the world. And that is not exactly what Samsung wants or needs.
According to the rumors, Samsung will be revealing this at CES 2013 in Las Vegas in January. This event is often a kick off for companies to release new products. The rumor mill has noted that Steve Bedbury is the one working on changing their “corporate identity”. He is a consultant who worked at Nike in charge of their advertising area, so he has the experience to make a difference in the process. When people think about Samsung, they immediately think of a company from Korea and that is what they what to change. Samsung is an international company with products across a wide area.
As with any rumor, there is a lot of unknowns here. We have to assume they are not going to change the name of the company. But, with a new logo there will be a large advertising and promotion associated with it. Since the rumored date for the new logo is at CES 2013, we can expect to see a number of new products from Samsung which will have the logo included on them.
We are a few months out from CES 2013, so we do not have long to wait to find out what Samsung will be using as their corporate logo for the future.
