Samsung has been expanding its relationship with Google. Last year, they provided the Galaxy Nexus which was released at Verizon in December. And it has been a popular phone here in the US expanding to Sprint and their emerging 4G LTE network. And as a result of what Samsung delivered in a quality product, Google has partnered with Samsung to provide the Nexus tablet for Google in providing the 10 inch version. This is in addition to the popular Nexus 7 tablet which came out last June from another manufacturer. With a larger 10 inch size and a great price, the Nexus 10 looks to do very well.
And the product coming from Smasung and Google should put the Google Nexus 10 in a lead position for market share behind Apple. This is especially true at a price of $399 for the entry level 16 GB version and it will make it a great competitor against the more expense Apple iPad. The 2560 by 1600 resolution is setting the bar higher for others to follow, including Apple. The battery life is listed at 9 hours as compared to the iPad’s 10 hours, so that will be a potential issue. But given the $100 price reduction from the iPad, this is one of the few downside items with the Nexus 10.
One of the great things is that the Nexus 10 will include the recently announced Jelly Bean version of Android 4.2. Since it was officially announced today, that is an advantage to get the latest version installed. The Nexus 10 will be available beginning on Tuesday, November 13th.
