Since Samsung has made it clear for the Galaxy S III arriving towards the middle of the year, speculation as to what Samsung is going to reveal at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which begins on February 27th, continues. The current information is pointing to a Galaxy S II Plus smart phone to be announced at that time to keep everyone’s interest in the companies continuing line of smart phones. This is a rumor as Samsung has not made any statement about announcing a new Galaxy S II Plus phone, though we would like to see one put out to continue this great line of devices. Most of the leaked information has it coming with a 1.5 Ghz dual core processor and Gingerbread. But we believe that if this rumor is correct, it will be coming with Ice Cream Sandwich and nothing less. Some benchmark tests have been attributed to the Galaxy S II Plus and a difficult to confirm as being accurate.
With all the leaked pictures, it is beginning to look like not all of them are legitimate ones as pointed out by Android OS as the picture is showing a date of 04/27 and Samsung always uses the current date in those pictures. It is showing an incorrect date for the MWC event as well. It looks like someone did a PhotoShop job on the Galaxy S II picture. If you happen to see more of the leaked pictures of the coming Galaxy S II Plus, take a look at the date. If it is not a 2012 date, then the picture is a fake. The picture here is from the first Galaxy S II promotion. Some of the leaked photos are showing a replaced button with a number of small icon buttons which again is a PhotoShop to the existing phone.
Rumors of a Plus version of the Galaxy S II are not that far off from what has happened in the past. The Galaxy S phone came out with a Plus version of the phone which many are calling refresh version to the popular handset. For Samsung to do the same thing with the Galaxy S II would be reasonable given their past history. There are rumors circulating about a refresh version of the Galaxy Nexus. Samsung could take the existing Galaxy S II and beef it up and include Ice Cream Sandwich which would attract a lot of customers to their phone. All of that without a lot of development time for a new phone which would reduce the overall costs. It is reasonable to believe that Samsung is coming out with the Galaxy S II Plus at MWC.
We still want to see the Samsung Galaxy S III in a few months.
