Evidence of 32 GB delays mounting at Verizon.
Pre-orders have been shipping at Verizon this past week, though there are some problems with that. Many are saying they are receiving their Galaxy S3 from Verizon, but for the most part, these are the 16 GB versions of the popular phone. With Verizon beginning to sell the Galaxy S3 on Tuesday, July 10th, it appears there are issues with supply for the 32 GB version of the phone. Evidence is mounting that Verizon is having inventory problems with the 32 GB version and with that, delays in pre-orders are going to take place.
There are numerous reports of people who ordered the 16 GB version of the Galaxy S3 who have already received them. But there are others, such as mazer75 who reported yesterday that “I just called csr again, and was assured that there was nothing wrong with my order. The only issue is that there are no white 32gb gs3 to ship at this time.” That is not a good sign for those of us who have ordered the 32 GB version of the Galaxy S3. We have to assume that the delays are going to continue for the 32 GB phone as demand is far larger than supply.
And then there is the article from International Business Times where they are talking about the Verizon Galaxy S3 launch on July 10th.
The 16GB version of the phone will be available in stores for $199 on a two-year contract, and the 32GB model, priced at $249, will be available online on July 10 and will be released in stores a couple of weeks later.
While those who want the 16 GB version of the Galaxy S3 are able to get the pre-orders shipped out and will be able to pick them up in the stores on Tuesday, those of us who want the 32 GB version are left in a lurch wondering exactly what is going on. Verizon will be selling the 32 GB Galaxy S3 online only on Tuesday, July 10th! It will not be in stores for at least a few weeks and that spells out the inventory problems which are being experienced at Verizon.
There have been stories about possible inventory issues with the 32 GB version of the Galaxy S3, but there has been no specific acknowledgement of that situation and the impact to customers. Not from Verizon and not from Samsung. There is not much we can do at this point but wait.
