Pre-order shipments seems to be dreadfully slow at Verizon.
Pre-orders for the Verizon Galaxy S3 have been shipping this week and that is the great news. With the Verizon Galaxy S3 to go on sale on Tuesday, July 10th, this means that pre-orders should be rolling out for everyone. But the desire for some to receive their brand new Galaxy S3 before the official release date of July 10th is beginning to fad very quickly. There have been a number of reports where people are receiving their Galaxy S3 smart phone this week, but that is not the case for everyone. Those who have been reporting the receipt of the Galaxy S3 placed their pre-order on the first few days which stated on June 6th.
For myself, I place my order later than planned on June 13th. And because I missed the first few days, I have been delayed in seeing my order. Each time that I check the status of my order, it says it will ship by July 9th, which has been the party line from Verizon this week. But, I have not received any notification from Verizon Wireless about shipping information. Since this is the weekend, it looks like it might ship on Monday, but I am unlikely to see it on Tuesday, the day it is available in their stores.

It seems that others who ordered after I did have seen their credit cards charged, so Verizon is collecting money, but many are missing shipping information. There are reports that FedEx has picked up phones, but Verizon has not sent out shipping information with tracking numbers. That is not much consolation for those of us who are waiting to get their hands on the Verizon Galaxy S3. Since they have charged me for the phone, how much longer must I wait for it to arrive?
Based on what I am seeing in various forums and posting, Verizon has been working to get phones delivered, but it appears they are having problems. Communication complaints of lack of timely notification from Verizon is an obvious one. Some who ordered their Galaxy S3 after I did have, received an email with tracking numbers which show a Monday delivery. One was ordered on June 17th well after I ordered my Galaxy S3, so it makes you wonder what is going on here. That was was a 16 GB version and mine is a 32 GB version. Is it being delayed because of 32 GB version? No one really knows as Verizon is not saying anything.
At this rate, I could walk into a Verizon Wireless store and pick up a new Galaxy S3 far faster than it will take them to ship it to me. I pre-ordered to keep my unlimited data, so I guess I will have to wait until they decide to notify me of the shipment and the eventual Galaxy S3 arrival.
