Samsung should reinvent themselves as a bigger and better company.
In light of the recent court decision in Apple v Samsung, everyone is looking at Samsung to see what they are going to do. It is a given they will appeal the $1 billion verdict, but what else can they do going forward to make the company stronger. Samsung has risen to the top of the market in recent years, even passing Apple to have a market share above all others. They did this at a time when Nokia and Blackberry were sliding to new depths and Apple was growing to become the company with the highest value in the world.
While Samsung has seen significant growth, many claim it is because of copying Apple’s designs and technology. That is a debate for others to undertake. The bigger question is what is Samsung going to do now? With all the growth they have seen, it is really time to become a different company and create innovation to counter what many are saying. Samsung has the depth in employees to do just that. They have shown they can create new technology that people really want to have.
Korea as a country has led in many areas, such as providing fiber Internet connections to just about everyone in the country. The US looks like it will take 10 years or longer before we can make that claim. Samsung has shown itself to be a technology giant and provides chips to Apple for their mobile devices. They have done many things very well and it is time they step out and develop some truly innovative technology and devices way beyond what Apple is doing. And they have the capability to accomplish that. The big question right now is whether they are going to take the necessary steps to reinvent themselves.
As the picture above shows, the “Next Big Thing Is Here”. What is the next big thing that Samsung is going to deliver? What do you think?
